Something other than levity........

I had quite the week-end from hell with my two teen males.....comments were made to me about what they thought of themselves, etc. and as luck would have it - when I returned to work after 4 weeks of holidays.........I had a thought provoking message that actually made me THINK! (I guess that was redundant - thought provioking message that made me think?) I am sharing parts of it here.....take what you want - leave the rest........Those who know "The Diz" know that I am NOT a holy roller - nor am I an athiest.....but......as I said - take what you want and leave the rest!

A prominent American's daughter was interviewed on a popular early morning show and stated in regards to September 11th....."How could God Let This Happen?"

Well - Anne Graham responded with, (in part) "...for years we have been asking God to stay out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. I think God has listened to us and stepped back....."

In light of recent events, (9/11, shootings in schools, terrorist attacks and planned attacks), Madeleine Murray O'Hare complained that she did not want to have prayer or the Bible in schools in the Bible it states - Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal and Love thy neighbour as yourself.......and we said "OKAY". (By the way - Madeleine Murray O'Hare was murdered, her body was recently found). Then - Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children, their little personalities might become warped and this will also damage their self-esteem. We said - "OKAY". (By the way - Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). Then someone said teacher's and principal's are not allowed to discipline our children - the schools agreed - they didn't want to get sued for "physically abusing" a child! (By the way - there is a difference between the "strap" and physical abuse!) Then someone said - "let's let our daughters have abortions if they want - and they don't have to tell their parents - after all - it is THEIR life!" and once again we said "OKAY". Then some school board somewhere and pretty well made it unanimous across the country, decided that boys will be boys - and since they will have sex anyway - let's give them condoms through the school and they can have all the fun they desire - and they won't have to "have the talk" with their parents". And once again we said "OKAY! Then some of our top elected officials said "it doesn't matter what we do in private - as long as we do our jobs". We said "OKAY - we should count ourselves lucky to have jobs - the work is being done - who cares what the President/Prime Minister is doing IN PRIVATE behind closed doors!" Then someone said, "Let's print pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, art, and just plain 'ole down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body," and we said "OKAY!" Then someone else took it a step further and allowed pictures of nude children to be printed - and made them accessible over the Internet - and we turned a blind eye - as "they" are entitled to "free speech". Then the entertainment industry decided that TV shows, music videos, etc. should be chalked full of violence, illicit sex, encourage rape, drugs, murder, suicide and satanic themes. We said - "Go ahead - no one takes that stuff seriously anyways!"

So now we are asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill, see someone killed, whether it's their family? classmates? strangers? or even themselves. Think about it - take just a second - I don't believe that the answer is that hard to figure out.............."WE REAP WHAT WE SOW!" If this was a lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene piece of writing - it would pass through cyber space at the speed of light!
